In that context, in 4 Upazilas of Chandpur district (Kachua, Shahrasti, Matlab North and Matlab South) and in Chandpur Municipality, mobile financial service providers ‘Nagad’ and 4 Upazilas (Sadar, Faridganj, Haimchar and Hajiganj) in the GTP system ‘Bank Asia’.

This allowance is being provided to 1 lakh 89 thousand 921 elderly, widows, and disabled people under the social security program in the current financial year 2020-21, Chandpur District Social Service Officer (Deputy Director) Rajat Shuvro Sarkar said.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on January 14 inaugurated the program of sending the allowances of the social security program directly to the beneficiaries through cash and development of mobile financial services by virtually joining the program organized at International Center.

For so long, allowances were paid through conventional banks under the social security program. As a result, the beneficiaries had to go to the bank at their own expense and wait for a long time to receive the allowance. The beneficiaries would suffer immensely.

As per the promise of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the allowance is being paid through agent banking and mobile financial services under the direction of the Ministry of Social Welfare. The money of all the beneficiaries will reach the palm of the hand in phases by June 30.

In order to perform this task, data entry has been made in the allowance management information system MIS of the Department of Social Services through the National Identity Card / Online Birth Registration Validation of the beneficiaries.

The data is verified, validated, via an agent banking account and finally, the payroll is sent. The e-bill was then submitted by the Department of Social Services.

The allowance money is reaching the beneficiary’s account through ibas plus (ibas ++) of the department and EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) of Bangladesh Bank.

People’s representatives, district and upazila administrations, local government departments, UDCs, voluntary organizations have directly and indirectly assisted in carrying out the work.
