After AWS and Azure, Sify joins Google Cloud Interconnect Partner

Data Centre service prodiver Sify Technologies has joined Google Cloud Partner Interconnect, a Google Cloud service that enables its customers to connect to globally. Now, Sify will offer connectivity services to Google Cloud in India. The company is already workig with Web Services and Microsoft Azure for similar services.

Google Cloud Interconnect Partner provides connectivity between customers on-premises network and VPC network through a supported service provider. A Partner Interconnect connection is useful if data center is in a physical location that can’t reach a Dedicated Interconnect colocation facility or if data needs of a customer does not warrant an entire 10 Gbps connection.

Basically, Cloud Interconnect provides low latency, highly available connections that enable users to reliably transfer data between their on-premises and VPC networks. Also, Cloud Interconnect connections provide RFC 1918 communication, which means internal (private) IP addresses are directly accessible from both networks.

The company said that through Google Cloud’s Partner Interconnect, Sify is enabling Google Cloud customers to connect with their offices, data centers and workloads in other public clouds, leveraging Sify’s country wide IP VPN (MPLS) network, which reaches over 1600 Indian towns and cities.

In addition, Sify said that Google Cloud customers can also utilize its Data Center Interconnect services. This service is offered from 45 data centers in the country, including six of Sify’s own -neutral colocation facilities.
