Germany’s Blaupunkt aims Rs 500 crore business in next 12 months from India’s smart TV market

Blaupunkt would invest around Rs 2,158 crore in the television business in India in next 3 to 5 years along with its India partner.

German consumer maker Blaupunkt has forayed into the Indian smart TV market with the launch of eight models of LED TV in India. The company told PTI that it would invest around Rs 2,158 crore in the television business in India in next 3 to 5 years along with its India partner and it aims to have a business of Rs 500 crore in next 12 months.

The investment would be made by Blaupunkt and Trigur Electronics jointly on marketing and manufacturing at Trigur’s plant in Sonepat, Haryana. The company would sell its products in Sri Lanka, , besides India, reported news agency.

Blaupunkt’s LED TVs come in three series and eight models equipped with features such as bombastic sound quality with Soundbar, AI-based Hybrid launcher, Voice-recognition smart remote and fine-tuned color variations.

The 4K UHD Premium Series has three LED models with the size of 43-inch, 49-inch, and 55-inch. On the other hand, the Smart Sound series has three models available in 32-inch, 43-inch, and 50-inch.

The company claimed that its smart TV comes with AI-driven smart user interface. The third model include the Family Series having 32-inch and 43-inch LED with a standard 30W sound output and carries similar specifications of other two series except for Inbuilt WiFi and Miracasting feature.

While the 4K UHD Premium Series starts from Rs 30, 999, the HD Smart Sound Series price will begin from Rs 16,999 and the Family Series HD will have a starting price of 12,999. The prices will vary for different products and size. They will be available to buy on e-commerce portal .com.
