NEET 2018: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate admission to MBBS and BDS has taken place on May 6. CBSE NEET 2018 replaces the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges themselves. CBSE NEET 2018 is an entrance examination for students who wish to study any undergraduate medical course – MBBS or BDS – in government or private medical colleges in India.

As many as 13.36 lakh students had registered for CBSE NEET 2018 entrance examination. CBSE NEET 2018 is like any other entrance examination in the country. Board has to follow strict guidelines to achieve the aim of conducting free, fair and smooth examination so that the eligible students join MBBS and BDS courses.

Undergraduate courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are outside the NEET’s purview.

CBSE NEET 2018 Exam

NEET – UG is an entrance examination for students who wish to study any graduate medical course – MBBS or BDS in government or private medical colleges in India. NEET- UG replaces the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges themselves.

Undergraduate courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are outside the NEET’s purview.

As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in 2016 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2016, NEET – UG will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in India in medical/dental colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament like AIIMS, JIPMER Puducherry.

CBSE NEET 2018 Syllabus and Exam Pattern

The NEET 2018 exam will be of three hours duration and contain 45 questions from each section – Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology – totaling 180 questions. The questions will be of multiple choice question (MCQ) type with four choices of answers and carry four marks. The maximum mark for the exam is 720 and for each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted from the total score.

CBSE NEET 2018 Exam Date,

The NEET 2018 will be held on Sunday, 6th May 2018. The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing All India Rank for the conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats and for supplying the result to state and other counselling authorities.

After successful conduct of NEET 2018 exam, CBSE will release the Answer Keys and final rank but many private institutes are likely to share the answer keys on the day of the exam itself. Like past years, CBSE will take some time to update NEET 2018 answer keys or OMR sheet but some of the medical institutes like Allen, Rao, Akash will share question papers with the correct answer on the day of the exam.
