Modi government organises conference on Command Area Development

Conference to promote awareness on Command Area Development and Water Management

A one-day conference on is being organised by Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation on Tuesday at CSMRS Auditorium, New Delhi. The Conference is to be inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Road Transport & Highways and Shipping as Chief Guest. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation and Parliamentary Affairs will be the guest of honour.

The Conference is being organised to promote awareness on Command Area Development and Water Management (CADWM) amongst the 18 participating states in which Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) projects are being implemented involving the concerned Central and State agencies as well as non-governmental organisations active in the area.

A Plenary session and three technical sessions have been planned for the Conference. Conference deliberations will cover such themes as new initiatives in CADWM implementation; Aim of CADWM programme & present Day Challenges; CADWM implementation under PMKSY, and Participatory Irrigation Management. Eminent speakers from Central and State governments and other apex organisations will make focussed presentations on the themes of the conference followed by open house discussions. About 200 delegates from the Command Area Development Authority (CADA) and irrigation departments of all participating states, officers from the Union Ministry of Water Resources, and Central government organisations like Central Water , Central Ground Water Board, National Water Development Agency, Central Soil Material Station are participating in the Conference. The deliberations during the Conference are expected to lead to valuable recommendation for future implementation by the government.z

Centre approves ₹1.275 lakh crore Semicon 2.0 to train 60,000 in chip manufacturing
