Gauhati University B.Ed Result 2017 Declared: The Gauhati University has declared the results for B.Ed exam 2017. All the candidates who have appeared for B.Ed examinations can now go to the official website of the university at gauhati.ac.in to check their results. The entrance examination for admission into B.Ed course for the session 2017-18 was held on August 6 and results has been announced now.
Now, all the affiliated and recognised colleges for B.Ed will create their own merit list based on the marks obtained in entrance examination and marks secured in qualifying examination by candidates. For example, if a student secured 76% in the qualifying examination and 55% in the entrance test, the total score will be 7.6+5.5=13.1. All the colleges have been asked by the university to complete the merit list by September 11 and start classes by September 15.

While putting the notification for Gauhati University B.Ed Result 2017, the university said that it is notified that the Gauhati University B.Ed Result 2017 shows only the marks secured by the students who appeared in the examination held on 06-08-2017 and as such it is not the final selection list for admission. The final selection list will be prepared by the respective colleges following the procedure laid out in earlier issued notification.
As per the Gauhati University, all affiliated and recognised B.Ed. colleges under Gauhati University will issue separate notification on their own inviting applications for admission in their colleges from the students who appeared in the B.Ed entrance examination conducted by university. The applications must be accompanied by the mark sheet and other relevant documents of the qualifying examination for admission in the B.Ed. Course.

Gauhati University B.Ed 2017 Merit List will be prepared by the respective colleges as per notification issued on July 7, 2017. “In particular, proper weightage will be given to marks secured in the qualifying examination. For example, if a student secured 76% in the qualifying examination and 55% in the entrance test, the total score will be 7.6+5.5=13.1. This will determine the rank of the student in the college he/she has applied for admission. Respective colleges are to carry out this exercise after verifying the relevant documents of the students and publish a merit list before the date of admission,” said university.
As per rule students can apply for admission to different colleges. However, a student can take admission in one college only. By September 11, all these formalities have to be completed. And, from September 15, the classes should start, advised university.

The University is in its 58th year of existence, and is the oldest, the largest, and the most premiere seat of higher education in the entire North Eastern Region of India.
The Gauhati University has been awarded a “B” Grade on a four point scale, the score point of the Gauhati University being 2.91 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of UGC.
