The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate admission to MBBS and BDS has been held across India. A total of 11,35,104 students who have registered for the exam appeared for exams at 104 cities across India. According to reports, this is a substantial increase in number of registered candidates from previous year. Last year, 8,02,594 candidates appeared for the NEET 2016 exams.

Before the exams, there were reports about measures being taken to ensure smooth conduct of the NEET 2017. Many candidates were looking for an easy answer to questions like what will be allowed inside the hall and what type of cloths one should wear for the exams.  But as we said earlier, there was no need to panic about anything as CBSE NEET 2017 is like any other entrance exam conducted by CBSE. Everything has gone smooth for CBSE NEET 2017.

The goal of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is to conduct free, fair and smooth examinations, so that the most eligible student joins for MBBS and BDS courses in the country.

CBSE gave relief to those students who had some issue with their signature or photographs on their CBSE NEET 2017 admit card. They were allowed to give their exams after establishing their identity with the help of original Aadhaar card or any government photo identity.

CBSE NEET 2017 Exam

NEET – UG is an entrance examination for students who wish to study any graduate medical course – MBBS or BDS in government or private medical colleges in India. NEET- UG replaces the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges themselves.

Undergraduate courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are outside the NEET's purview.

As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in 2016 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2016, NEET – UG will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in India in medical/dental colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament like AIIMS, JIPMER Puducherry.

CBSE NEET 2017 Syllabus and Exam Pattern

The NEET 2017 exam was of three hours duration and contained 45 questions from each section – Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology – totaling to 180 questions. The questions were of multiple choice question (MCQ) type with four choice of answers and carries four marks. The maximum mark for the exam is 720 and for each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted from the total score. The language of the question was English and Hindi.

CBSE NEET 2017 Exam Date, NEET 2017 Exam Analysis

The NEET 2017 was conducted on Sunday, 7th May, 2017. The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing All India Rank for the conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats and for supplying the result to state and other counselling authorities.

Some of the students who appeared for NEET 2017 said that overall paper was ‘Ok' except Physics, which many students said was tough. Some of the experts told Tech Observer that physics papers is bound to look like tough one, as medical students focus more on Biology and Chemistry like engineering students who focus more on Math and Physics.

CBSE NEET 2017 Answer Keys, NEET 2017 Rank, NEET 2017 Results

So far no question papers and answer keys have been uploaded officially. Some of the independent coaching centres have uploaded question paper with answers. CBSE is likely to take some time to update NEET 2017 answer keys or OMR sheet but some of the medical institutes like Allen, Rao, Akash have shared question papers with correct answer today.
