The accounts have been reactivated after several rounds of continuous screening and intensive scrutiny in consultation with the concerned authorities.
The ‘Nagad’ authority immediately informed the concerned authorities including Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU).
Upon hearing the news of the protest, a team from the Gulshan police station went to the spot. Talking to the protesters, the police brought the situation under control.
The BFIU sent a letter to the banks on Tuesday (June 29). The letter said that if any account has been conducted in the name of the person concerned in the interest of these organizations and organizations, it should be informed if it is conducted now or in the past.
