Varun Sheth

Varun Sheth is Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ketto.org, an online crowdfunding platform based in Mumbai. Ketto was founded by Sheth, actor Kunal Kapoor and Zaheer Adenwala, and works in the online fundraising space for medical, social, charitable and other causes.

Sheth is from Mumbai and studied at Jamnabai Narsee School, where he completed his ICSE with Maths and Science. He later studied at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, earning a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Economics.

Before entering entrepreneurship, Sheth worked in the financial services sector, including as a finance analyst. His professional training includes Financial Risk Manager certification from GARP, CFA Level III candidacy, NCFM modules in derivatives and capital markets, and certification-linked training in stock markets, foreign exchange risk management, mutual funds and fundamental analysis.

In 2011, he left his finance career to build Ketto, which later developed as a technology-led crowdfunding platform connecting donors with individuals and organisations seeking financial support. Over the years, Ketto has been associated with fundraising campaigns across healthcare, education, disaster relief, animal welfare and other social causes.

Sheth has been recognised in entrepreneurship and business listings, including Forbes India’s 30 Under 30 list in 2017, Fortune India’s 40 Under 40 list in 2018 and The Economic Times 40 Under Forty list in 2019. His work is primarily associated with the growth of digital crowdfunding in India and the use of online platforms for charitable and personal fundraising.
