PDRL AeroGCS Global Competition to push drone innovation

Nashik-based drone technology firm PDRL has announced the second edition of the AeroGCS Global Competition, calling on drone enthusiasts, innovators, and professionals from across the globe to participate. 

In a statement, PDRL emphasised that this year’s competition aims to further innovation while focusing on creativity and positive social impact through drone technology.

According to PDRL, the AeroGCS Global Competition 2.0 is open to individuals aged 18 and above, including students, professionals, and hobbyists. The company highlighted that the competition seeks to utilise drone technology to tackle critical global challenges, including agricultural efficiency, environmental sustainability, and disaster relief.

“This competition is not just about technical skills but about creating solutions that can bring about meaningful social change,” PDRL stated.

Phases and Structure

PDRL detailed the competition’s structure, explaining that it will consist of three phases. Round 1, an quiz scheduled for December 14, 2024, will test participants on drone technology and its societal

Round 2, a virtual simulation challenge on January 4, 2025, will leverage AeroGCS GREEN and an advanced drone simulator. The final round, taking place in on January 25, 2025, will challenge participants with a written test and a live drone flight mission.

“This multi-stage format is designed to rigorously assess the participants’ capabilities, ensuring only the best reach the final round,” said Vishal Joshi, Head of Training and Certification, PDRL.

Rewards and Opportunities

PDRL outlined the rewards for the competition, stating that the AeroGCS Champion will receive Rs 2.5 Lakh, the AeroGCS Expert Rs 1 Lakh, and the AeroGCS Professional Rs 50 Thousand. 

Additionally, winners will receive a PDRL Certificate, social media spotlight, and potential job offers from PDRL and its partners.

“We are offering not just financial incentives but also significant career opportunities, including networking with industry leaders,” said the company.

PDRL stressed that the competition is an opportunity for participants to engage with thought leaders and gain valuable mentorship. Anil Chandaliya, founder & CEO of PDRL, explained the broader vision, stating, “India is undergoing a technological revolution as we strive for Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and drones, along with other emerging technologies, are leading this transformation across industries like construction, agriculture, mining, and healthcare.” 

He added, “At PDRL, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of drone technology through continuous innovation. The AeroGCS Global Competition is the ideal platform to showcase this vision.”

Joshi added, “The AeroGCS Global Competition is not just about identifying the next wave of drone innovators; it’s about giving them the tools and platform to create technology that makes a difference. We believe that drones have the potential to solve real-world problems, and through this competition, we want to spark a global conversation about how technology can be used to drive positive social impact.”

Accessibility and Registration

PDRL assured that it is committed to making the competition accessible to all, offering support for and accommodation for final round participants. 

The company encouraged interested individuals to register online by December 7, 2024, and gain access to resources via the AeroMegh platform.

“This competition is more than just a contest; it’s an opportunity to shape the future of drone technology while contributing to the broader good,” PDRL said.
