SBI PO 2017 Preliminary Exam: Here’s what to attempt, cut off marks and pattern

On April 29 and 30, India’s largest bank State Bank of India has completed the preliminary exam for the first few batches who had applied for the post of Probationary Officer.

On April 29 and 30, India’s largest bank has completed the preliminary exam for the first few batches had applied for the post of Probationary Officer. The four hour duration, exam was conducted in mode. According to rules, preliminary examination is a qualifying examination.

The bank sets cut off marks for Preliminary exam and candidates who score marks equal to or more than the cutoff marks are then called for the SBI PO Main exam.

In February this year, SBI had published the recruitment notification for Probationary Officers. The Preliminary exam scheduled for April 29 and 30 is over now. The preliminary exam to be held on May 6 and 7 remains. The exam followed similar pattern and difficulty levels both days.

: During the preliminary examination, candidates had one hour to complete the exam. There were three sections- Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Language. There were 30 questions in English language section and 35 questions each in the rest of the two sections.

Difficulty Level of SBI PO 2017: Overall the question paper was easy to moderate which means, the cut off this year may be high.

Sectional difficulty level of SBI PO 2017: Each section was again easy to moderately difficult.

What is good attempt: 13-16 correct answers in English Language section can be considered good attempt. In case of Reasoning Ability 19-22 correct attempts can be considered a good attempt and for Quantitative Aptitude 21-23 correct attempts can be considered a good attempt.

Cut off for SBI PO 2017: Candidates appearing for SBI PO Preliminary exam need to score overall and sectional cutoff. As per the cut offs set last year and this year’s paper pattern and difficulty level, our prediction for cut off score is followings.

English language: 9-12

Reasoning Ability: 9-12

Quantitative Aptitude: 9-11

Overall Cutoff: 48-58
