Rao IIT Academy was established in Kota way back in 2002, thereafter it spread across the country including the opening of Mumbai centre in 2008. The institute aims to impart quality coaching to young students so that they can successfully complete competitive examinations. Over the years, Rao IIT Academy performance has been improving significantly – more than 1400 students have been selected in IIT-JEE Advanced, 206 in AIIMs and two students ranked in top 50 and four in top 100 in recently held NEET examination.

How the idea of setting up Rao IIT Academy came in?
Rao IIT Academy is a vision of Dr. B.V. Rao who wanted to impart quality education to young Indians. He established this institute way back in 2000 in Kota and now it has spread all across the country. The other milestone was achieved in 2008 when we started operation in Mumbai. As you know, Mumbai has immense potential and talented students but they were migrating to Kota for JEE coaching, as the city lacked the instruments required for core JEE coaching. We stepped in to address this challenge and now we have over 30 study centres with our own 7 Jr. Colleges of science across Maharashtra.

What kind of tests and parameters Rao IIT Academy use to assess the progress of a student and how successful those have been?
We provide a mix of offline and online coaching to students from Class 6th to 12th who aspire for Olympiads, JEE for Engineering and NEET, AIIMS or other tests for Medical stream. In offline mode, we provide a traditional coaching with exhaustive study materials. In online, we digitize our content with videos and spread it via our portal. Our portal gives a complete analysis to a student on his strength and improvement areas on individual subjects as well as topics into the micro level.
What have been the academic achievement so far and what are your plans to improve it further?
Our results have been phenomenal with over 1400 selections in IIT-JEE Advanced. This year, our two students ranked in top 50s, while the five scored under top 100s. Overall, our 84% of students ranked below 776. As far as NEET is concerned, our two students ranked in the top 50 and four in the top 100. In AIIMs, as many as 206 of our students have been selected. We have been delivering these results consistently year-over-year. To take the benefit to the weaker section of the society under our CSR initiative, we have enrolled many students and their performance are encouraging. We are working continuously by providing a national platform to identify student and eventually work on them to deliver results by integrating out teaching and testing modules.
In what way, Rao IIT Academy is using technology to make itself agile and student friendly?
The adoption of technology has been boon for us. It helps us to cater over 1.5 lakh students not just across India but even from US, UK, UAE and other Asian countries. It also enables us to reach top Indian and Ivy League Institutes. With current pattern adapted by NTA, the subject content, coaching and syllabus completion is not the only requirement, a proper online testing platform with the continuous Mock test as per JEE standards helps students achieve an edge in competitive examinations and that is what we have been focusing on.
What are the Rao IIT Academy future plans?
We plan to cater to more students through our digital platform and make Rao Academy more accessible to students across the country and globally. With the help of both online and offline medium, we will keep on helping students achieve their dream.
