BENGALURU – OnePlus has confirmed that its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, will launch globally in a dune-coloured “Sand Storm” edition, featuring aerospace-grade Micro-Arc Oxidation (MAO) on the middle frame and camera module, the company said on Monday.
The Sand Storm model, inspired by desert landscapes, uses a high-voltage plasma process to grow a ceramic coating directly on the metal frame.
OnePlus said the process makes the frame 3.4 times harder than aluminium and 1.3 times tougher than titanium while maintaining an environmentally sustainable footprint.
