The new structure replaces Meta’s fragmented subscription approach with consolidated bundles. Individual users can subscribe to single-app plans, Instagram Plus, WhatsApp Plus or Facebook Plus, or opt for Core and Premium tiers that combine features from multiple platforms. Business users and creators have access to four additional tiers: Essential, Advanced, Expert and Max.

Meta One subscription tiers

The Core tier, priced at approximately ₹767 per month, provides access to bundled features from Meta’s separate app subscriptions. The Premium tier at approximately ₹1,919 per month adds greater access to compute-intensive AI features, meaning capabilities that require significant processing power on Meta’s servers, such as generating images and videos using Meta AI.

Enhanced features linked to Instagram’s Restyle tool, which allows users to apply visual effects to their content, will let subscribers create additional images and videos with Meta AI. Meta said early tests showed that more than half of subscribers used both AI and creative expression features, with Restyle and voice effects driving interest in Instagram subscriptions.

Individual app subscriptions offer more limited functionality. Instagram Plus at approximately ₹383 per month provides custom fonts for Stories and direct messages. Facebook Plus, at the same price, adds customisation options and additional insights for Reels, the platform’s short-video format.

WhatsApp Plus at approximately ₹287 per month offers additional themes, icons and chat management features, including scheduled focus modes that Meta said are currently being tested.

Creator and business tools

The higher-priced tiers target professional users. The Essential tier starts at approximately ₹1,439 per month, Advanced at ₹4,799, Expert at ₹14,303 and Max at ₹47,899. These offerings provide tools to manage online presence, reach audiences and handle customer interactions.

Features available across Meta subscription offerings

Meta said business users will gain greater access to Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp, an AI-powered tool that enables automated responses to customer queries. The company will also introduce Edits Plus, providing additional cloud storage and access to an upcoming assistant that will analyse Instagram insights and generate content ideas.

For creators, Meta said enhanced profiles, more prominent follow buttons on Reels and follow prompts will be automatically shown to users who engage with a creator’s content. These features aim to help creators grow their audiences within Meta’s platforms rather than relying on external tools.

The launch seems to be Meta’s most ambitious effort to monetise its social platforms through subscriptions rather than alone. The company faces pressure to diversify revenue as regulatory scrutiny of targeted advertising increases globally. Meta Verified, the company’s earlier subscription product offering identity verification and customer support, has been folded into the new structure.

Meta said pricing and feature availability may vary by region, app and account type. The approximate Indian rupee figures are conversions from US dollar pricing and do not necessarily represent Meta’s actual India pricing, which may differ based on local taxes and platform fees.
