Key Points
- Epson SureColor V4000 priced at ₹49.8 lakh for Indian market
- Printer supports direct printing on wood, glass, metal and ceramic up to 20cm thick
- 10-colour UV ink system enables textured and multi-layer printing on promotional merchandise
Epson has launched the SureColor V4000 UV flatbed printer in India at ₹49,79,999, a device that prints directly onto solid objects rather than paper, targeting businesses that produce customised merchandise and signage.
The printer, which will be available from July 2026, uses ultraviolet light to instantly cure and harden ink onto surfaces including wood, acrylic, glass, metal, plastic, leather and ceramic tiles. This produces scratch-resistant prints that can be used immediately without drying time — a significant advantage for businesses producing promotional items such as phone covers, keychains, pens and gift products.
UV flatbed printing differs from conventional inkjet printing in that the substrate remains stationary while the print head moves across it, allowing printing on rigid materials up to 20 centimetres thick. The technology has found growing adoption among signage makers, interior décor manufacturers and promotional merchandise businesses in India.
Technical Capabilities
The SureColor V4000 supports a print area of 980mm by 700mm — slightly larger than A1 size — and achieves print speeds of up to 4.6 square metres per hour in standard mode, rising to 10.9 square metres per hour in high-speed mode. Print resolution stands at 600 by 900 dots per inch.
The device uses Epson’s 10-colour UltraChrome UV ink set, which includes cyan, magenta, yellow and black alongside light cyan, light magenta, grey, red, white and varnish inks. The white and varnish inks enable textured, gloss and multi-layer printing effects that would not be possible with standard CMYK ink sets alone.
An automatic non-contact height sensor adjusts for varying material thicknesses without manual calibration, while front-access maintenance allows operators to service the printer without rear clearance.

Portfolio Expansion
