Dyson has launched its V16 Piston Animal cordless vacuum cleaner in India at ₹79,900, adding a new flagship model that automatically adjusts to different floor surfaces and is designed to prevent long hair from becoming tangled around its brush rollers.
The vacuum is available through Dyson‘s website and its stores across India. The model was first unveiled globally in September 2025 and has now been introduced in the Indian market.
At the centre of the V16 is a new 900W Hyperdymium motor, which Dyson says can generate up to 315 air watts of suction. The company claims the motor is 50 per cent more powerful than its previous-generation Hyperdymium motor.
For users, however, one of the more noticeable changes is likely to be the new All Floor Cones Sense cleaner head. It uses two conical brush bars designed to move long hair towards their narrower ends and into the vacuum bin rather than allowing it to wrap around the rollers.
Dyson says the system can handle hair up to 25 inches long. The cleaner head also detects changes between hard floors and carpets and automatically alters suction and brush rotation speed, reducing the need to change cleaning heads while moving between rooms.
Another addition is the CleanCompaktor bin. Instead of simply storing collected dirt, the mechanism compresses dust and debris inside the bin. Dyson claims this allows it to hold up to three times as much material and, depending on usage, as much as 30 days of collected dust before it needs to be emptied. The internal surfaces are also designed to be wiped as the bin is emptied to reduce dust and hair left behind.
The V16 offers up to 70 minutes of claimed runtime on a charge. Its battery is removable, allowing users to swap in another battery if they need a longer cleaning session.
The vacuum also comes with a fully sealed five-stage HEPA filtration system. Dyson says it captures 99.99 per cent of particles as small as 0.1 microns. LED illumination on the cleaner head is intended to make fine dust easier to spot on floors and beneath furniture.
The V16 can connect to the MyDyson app, which provides maintenance alerts, settings and instructions for tasks such as cleaning the filter. The India model also includes a crevice tool for narrow spaces and a Hair Screw Tool 2.0 for removing long and pet hair from surfaces.
Asaph Ooi, Head of Floorcare Engineering, Dyson, said the new model brings together a more powerful motor, automatic floor detection and the anti-tangle cleaner head in a single machine.
At ₹79,900, the V16 Piston Animal remains firmly at the premium end of the cordless vacuum category. Its proposition is therefore less about basic vacuuming and more about reducing some of the routine work involved in cleaning, particularly switching attachments, removing tangled hair and frequently emptying the dust bin.
