Dhakad said technology would play a central role in upGrad’s next phase of expansion. “Our focus will be on designing intelligent, AI-native systems that personalise learner journeys and deliver measurable results for both individuals and enterprises,” he said.

He added that his role would also include enabling teams across product, design and engineering to develop large-scale learning solutions.

Amit Mehta, Chief Human Resources Officer, upGrad, said Dhakad’s appointment comes as the company strengthens its presence in global markets.

Founded in 2015, upGrad offers online and hybrid programmes across higher education and professional skilling. It partners with universities in and abroad to deliver diploma, master’s and executive doctorate degrees and provides training and recruitment services.
