ISB signs MoU with Cisco to set up connected campus

To pep up its digital infrastructure, the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (ISB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cisco. Under this agreement, Cisco will provide networking, voice, video and wireless communications solutions to ISB for setting up connected campus.

Once the digital campus is set up, the new infrastructure will offer better network connectivity, improved teachers and student collaboration, said the statement. The MoU was signed by Dr. Rajendra Srivastava, Dean, ISB and Sameer Garde, President, Cisco India & SAARC.

“The digital transformation in the education sector is indeed a must to address the challenges pertaining to technological disruption. The future of jobs is strongly connected with digital transformation, and in the context, the delivery of education must have a strong digital content. We are excited to have this important MoU with Cisco, and I am sure this will be a move towards digital education in India,” said Dr. Rajendra Srivastava, Dean, Indian School of Business.

The American networking giant has Connected Classroom solutions which leverage its networking and collaboration solutions like Boards. The company said that students and educators can access educational resources, using their , tablets and other connected devices.

In addition, its student engagement platform Involvio with Cisco Webex and Wi-Fi solutions can offer a suite of tools and dashboards for better student engagement. The company said that integrated solution will allow ISB to leverage the mobility to improve access to campus resources and track student engagement and attendance automatically.

The company claimed that by utilizing Wi-Fi access, sensors, , context, and location-based services and digital signage, ISB can enable higher levels of operational efficiency to campus administration and management, including smart lighting and connected vehicles, while allowing a more in-depth view into building efficiencies, student behavior, and .
