EY plans to hire 9000 IT professionals in India

The global consulting firm EY said that it plans to hire 9000 new professionals in India in 2021 for various technology roles across all member firms, including the global centres, for expanding its digital capabilities.

These hires will be from the STEM background and in areas including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), security, analytics and other emerging technologies, the company said in a statement.

Currently, EY in India has more than 50,000 people working in all member firms, including global delivery centers with 36% of them being from the STEM background, the statement added.

“We are making bold investments in our organisation, particularly in technology, , and through strategic acquisitions, while continuing to expand our alliance and ecosystem relationships,” Rohan Sachdev, Partner and Consulting Practice Leader, EY India said, adding that with the pace of digital adoption accelerating exponentially, his company is strengthening capabilities in roles and significantly intensifying hiring efforts in the coming year.

Last year, the company in India acquired C Centric, a leading provider of CRM solutions and services, and in 2018, it had acquired Fortune Cookie UX Design to drive digital transformation, including design thinking, user experience (UX) design, usability and building user-centric digital ecosystems.
