Lenovo has announced a major enhancement to its hybrid cloud platform, focusing on improved support for Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications.

Amidst growing buzz around integration of artificial intelligence into enterprises IT architecture across various industries, has announced a major enhancement to its platform, focusing on improved support for Artificial Intelligence () applications.

The update includes new ThinkAgile hyperconverged solutions and ThinkSystem servers, featuring the latest Xeon Scalable Processors. The company said that this advancement aims to assist customers in integrating AI into their current IT infrastructure, marking a significant move towards a dynamic hybrid AI approach spanning public, private, and personal foundation models.

The company said that the newly launched ThinkAgile hybrid cloud solutions are designed to increase AI performance and cloud agility. These solutions offer enhanced computing power and faster memory, supplementing Lenovo's existing portfolio.

Furthermore, Lenovo said its Professional Services for AI and TruScale as-a-service offerings are introduced to facilitate businesses in simplifying IT operations and accelerating AI adoption. These services also offer integrated hybrid cloud capabilities for , allowing businesses to scale and pay according to their specific needs.

“This launch marks a step towards strengthening our commitment to AI for All. Our new Hybrid Cloud Platforms propel innovation and offer to create a faster, more flexible path to AI,” said Sumir Bhatia, President – AP, Lenovo ISG.

“With up to 15 percent better performance, customers can leverage these solutions to reduce their IT footprint, achieve greater ROI, and deliver accurate business outcomes. These solutions are offered in a consumption model and seamlessly integrate with existing IT infrastructure for a dynamic hybrid AI approach,” Bhatia added.

The Lenovo ThinkAgile hybrid cloud solutions and ThinkSystem servers incorporate 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with Intel's AMX technology, enabling AI acceleration. This technology supports AI inferencing and training on models with up to 20 billion parameters. The portfolio also features an open architecture with advanced management, superior reliability, and comprehensive security, aiding companies of all sizes in managing hybrid multi-cloud environments.

The company said its ThinkAgile HX, MX, and VX solutions, optimised for AI, are turnkey hybrid cloud solutions engineered with the new 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors. These solutions work with a range of partners, including Nutanix, Microsoft, and VMware, offering industry-leading cloud software that enables new capabilities, faster backup and recovery, and a reduction in deployment time by up to 75%.

Lenovo is also expanding its portfolio with the ThinkAgile VX with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) reference architecture, supporting hybrid cloud virtualised and containerised workloads. The new ThinkAgile MX450 Edge Integrated System, featuring built-in Azure Arc, offers a compact solution for Azure cloud services and AI inferencing at the edge. Additionally, ThinkAgile HX AI for the Edge with Nutanix is designed to provide scalable solutions for AI and machine learning compute or storage workloads remotely.

The company also stressed that in partnership with Intel, it continues to integrate the latest technology across its ThinkSystem portfolio, including dense optimised, rack, and tower solutions. The SD530 V3, SD550 V3, and SD650-N V3 dense optimised servers, powered by the new 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, offer enhanced processing power in a compact form factor with up to 40% lower power consumption, thanks to Lenovo Neptune liquid cooling.

For enterprises, Lenovo's ThinkSystem SR650 V3 and SR630 V3 rack servers provide optimied performance for AI workloads in flexible configurations. For multi-site locations, including branch offices and retail, the new Lenovo ThinkSystem SR250 V3 rack server and ST250 V3 tower server leverage Intel Xeon E-2400 processors, delivering up to 21% higher overall performance for flexible edge computing, claimed the company.
