Vaccine registration for 18+ begins on coWin portal, Aarogya Setu and Umang app: Step-by-Step guide

Vaccine registration for 18+: With the second wave of in India creating havoc for the people, the union government is all set to begin the third phase of the vaccination drive for everyone above the age of 18 from May 1. The registration for vaccination slot has begun on the Co-WIN platform, Aarogya Setu and app from April 28. The inoculation process and documents to be provided to get the jab remains the same.

“Registration for 18 plus to begin on http://cowin.gov.in, Aarogya Setu App & UMANG App at 4 PM on 28th April. Appointments at State Govt centers & Private centers depending on how many vaccination centers are ready on 1st May for Vaccination of 18 plus,” said a tweet from the official handle of Aarogya Setu app.

“All citizens above the age of 18 years can register themselves for getting Covid-19 vaccine jabs starting 4 pm today as the government gears up to launch the third phase of vaccination drive from 1 May,” and Family Welfare, GoI, informed in a tweet.

While the platform faced initiatives hiccups as people were either not able to register or not getting OTP, but it was soon made operational, according to a tweet posted by Aarogya Setu app in response to many people reporting the problem.

It also advised that anybody is facing any issues in registration on Aarogya Setu, they can use http://cowin.gov.in to register. Aarogya Setu registration for 18 plus will also be activated soon.

More than 35 lakhs people registered in the first hour after the launch of 18 plus registration on http://cowin.gov.in. Appointments for 18-44 will be available when State Govts and Private Vaccination Centers schedule sessions.

On vaccination appointments for 18 plus, the union government said that will be possible once the State Governments and Private Vaccination Centers schedule Vaccination sessions.

How to register for Covid-19 vaccination on coWin portal, Aarogra Setu and Umang app: Step-by-step guide

 Step 1: Go to the co-Win portal self-registration page — selfregistration.cowin.gov.in

Step 2: On this page, you will find three options to register. First by just entering your mobile number on cowin portal itself. Second, by opting for the Aarogray Setu app, and third by choosing Umang app options.

Step 3: Once you enter your mobile number, the system will automatically send you an OTP to verify your phone number. In this stage, many people are complaining that they are not getting OTP. In such cases, you can try via Aarogya setu or Umang app. If you are trying on Umang or apps and facing problems, then try on cowin portal. Just try whatever works for you.

Step 4: If you have received OPT, just enter because it will be valid for 3 minutes only.

Step 5: After entering the OTP, a page will open where you will have to fill in details like your name, age, gender, and area of residence.

Step 6: For identity proof, a photo Id will be required, which can be your Aadhar card, driving license, passport, etc. Please note that your photo Id will be verified at the time of your vaccination . So, provide the details of the Photo ID that you will carry for vaccination.

Step 7: After registering your address and entering the pin code, you will be shown hospitals in your area from which you can choose your nearest one.

Please note that when you go for the vaccination on May 1 or as per your convenience, wait for 30 minutes at the vaccination centre after taking the Covid-19 vaccine shot. Inform the vaccination centre if any side effect is experienced within 30 minutes, said the government advisory.

The side effect details could also be shared with Helpline Number: +91-11-23978046 (Toll-free- 1075) if it occurs even after leaving the vaccination centre.
