The museum, located within the historic Teen Murti Bhawan complex in the capital, marked four years since its inauguration on 14 April. It recorded more than 6.4 lakh visitors in the financial year 2025–26, with daily attendance averaging between 1,400 and 1,500 people.

Accessibility features and new technology

Beyond the AI avatar installations, the museum is developing technology to assist visitors with disabilities. Officials said the Sangrahalaya is working with a startup on AI-enabled smart glasses designed for visually impaired visitors. The glasses would identify objects and provide audio descriptions in real time.

The venue already features several interactive installations. These include a simulated helicopter ride over major infrastructure projects such as the Atal Tunnel and the Chenab Bridge, a national security gallery showcasing recent operations, and a facility allowing visitors to generate personalised images with digital renderings of Indian prime ministers.
