The era of cold-war may have ended in 1991, when member USSR countries formally announced to break away, establishing US supremacy across the globe but Russia still holds the edge on top graded weaponry and has advanced hypersonic technologies than the US.

According to US Vice Chief of Space Operations Gen David Thompson, not just Russia but China is also way of the US in hypersonic technologies. “We are not as advanced as the Chinese or the Russians in terms of hypersonic programs,” Sputnik said at the Halifax International Forum.

As per assessment Hypersonic missiles fly at least five times at the speed of sound but their ability to glide on the atmosphere while changing direction at such a high speed makes them virtually impossible — with existing radars — to track and destroy.
