Upgrading with new features, WhatsApp is set to introduce new features that will help them locate nearby businesses with ease. According to a recent , the new feature on the platform that will track locations will be known as the Businesses Nearby section. With the new section, users will be able to see restaurants, stores, grocery shops, and others in a separate section.

It is, however, not clear if users will be able to order directly from WhatsApp or just be able to see the contact details, location, and other such information. The report says that the feature has been spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android but is likely to come on iPhones as well. The feature is currently under development and there’s no confirmed date for its rollout.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp Business accounts are also receiving a new shortcut for quickly replying to messages. Available for both iOS and Android beta users, WhatsApp has added a new shortcut in the share action menu.

The new option can be seen along with the camera, photo & library, catalogue, and other options when a user taps on the ‘+’ sign for iPhones and attachment sign for Android. This will allow WhatsApp Business beta users to quickly reply to messages.

The Quick Reply feature is already available for WhatsApp Business accounts. It can be activated by pressing ‘/’ on the keyboard. They can then select a message from the list to send to a customer.

WhatsApp recently enabled a new feature to protect its users, “preventing unknown contacts to get your last seen and the online status if you have never chatted with them.” The new feature eliminates the ability of certain apps on the App Store and Store to check the last seen or online status of select contacts on WhatsApp.

Unless a user has an active chat with a person or if they have chatted with the person, they will not be able to check last seen or online status. With the feature, no unknown person will be able to see when you were last seen on WhatsApp or your online status.
