has appointed as its new Senior Director – Policy and Operations. Gyani is joining the IndiaTech.Org team after serving at GitHub, where he led education and government engagements for subsidiary, one of the world's leading software development platforms.

With a career spanning more than two decades, Gyani's experience traverses various sectors including IT, Retail, Food Processing, and Infrastructure Development. He has demonstrated proficiency in policy advocacy, Corporate and Government affairs, Strategic Planning, and Marketing across multinational companies, industry associations, and nonprofits.

At IndiaTech.Org, Gyani will be instrumental in furthering the organisation's goal of expanding and enhancing India's tech ecosystem to become more innovative and competitive globally. His responsibilities will encompass conducting research, advocating policies, facilitating industry collaboration, and expanding IndiaTech's memberships, said Rameesh Kailasam, CEO, Indiatech.org in LinkedIn note.

Gyani expressed his enthusiasm about transitioning from his corporate career to a role that enables him to shape and influence policies at the grassroots level. He said, “I am eager to contribute to the journey of startups and entrepreneurs innovating and contributing to .”

He also emphasised the pivotal role of the Indian startup ecosystem, which he described as “one of the fastest-growing globally, not just building technology for 1.4 billion Indians but also leading the path for the world to follow.” Gyani added, “I am excited to be a part of IndiaTech's vision and look forward to collaborating with startup founders, venture capitalists, and policymakers.”

Gyani acknowledged the role of the government in enabling the growth of this ecosystem and underscored IndiaTech.org's commitment to partnering with startups and the government to help India realise its full potential of growth, innovation, and prosperity.

Before his tenure at GitHub, Gyani was instrumental in providing overall business leadership to achieve marketing priorities for Microsoft's commercial enterprise and public sector business in India. Over five years at Microsoft India, he developed and executed customer-facing marketing strategies aimed at policymakers, decision-makers, and influencers across government, healthcare, education, and public sector organisations.

Gyani's impressive career spanning over 20 years includes work with prominent organisations like FICCI, PMI, Foreign Trade Development Centre, and Indian Institute of Economic Studies & Trade, among others. Gyani, an alumnus of the Indian Business School, also holds an MBA from the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune.
