JIPMER MBBS 2017: The entrance examination for undergraduate admission to MBBS course at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER) has been conducted at 339 centres across 75 cities in the country on June 4.

The two hours and thirty minutes long online exam was conducted in two shifts at 10 am and 3 pm. About 200 objective type questions (MCOs), 60 each from physics, chemistry and biology and 10 each from and comprehension and logical and quantitative reasoning was asked.

The JIPMER MBBS 2017 results is expected to be announced on June 19. On the basis of the JIPMER MBBS 2017 rank, JIPMER would select 200 candidates for the MBBS course. Out of 200, 150 will be admitted at the prestigious institute at Puducherry and 50 at the JIPMER, Karaikal.

As per the JIPMER rule, the MBBS course at the JIPMER is of four years and six months duration followed by one year of compulsory internship for getting the degree.

JIPMER MBBS 2017 Exam Pattern

  • Language: The exam was conducted in English medium.
  • Questions: The question paper contained 200 multiple-choice questions.
  • Mode of Exam: The exam was organised through CBT ( Based Test) mode.
  • Marking Scheme: One mark will be given for each correct response.
  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in this exam.

The syllabus for the JIPMER MBBS entrance exam was based on the syllabus prescribed by State Board Higher Secondary and CBSE for XI & XII Standards. The questions were asked from physics, chemistry, Biology, Logic and Quantitative Reasoning and English and Comprehension.

JIPMER 2017 Result is expected to be announced on or before June 19, 2017. According to the report, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentile and marks obtained by the candidates.
