VTU issued revised academic calendar for Even Semester 2017-18

Karnataka premier engineering university, Visvesvaraya Technological University () has issued VTU revised academic calendar for Even Semester 2017-18. As per the new calendar, the Even Semester 2017-18 for B.E / B.Tech / B.Arch / M.Tech / M.Arch / MBA / MCA courses begins on February 5, 2018. Last working day of the Even Semester would be February 26. Practical exam will be conducted between May 5 to June 6. Theory exam will take from June 11 to July 14. Viv Voce will take place from June 11 to 16 and students can submit their summer project in the month of May-June. As per schedule, the Odd semester would begin on August 1, 2018. As per previous notification, the Even Semester was expected to begin from February 1, 2018.

Visvesvaraya Technological University

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) also known as Visveswaraiah Technological University is a collegiate public state university. It was established by the Government of Karnataka. Apart from a few notable exceptions, VTU has education authority in the state of Karnataka. It is a statutory requirement for colleges offering any program in engineering or in the state to be affiliated with the university. The university is named after Sir M Visvesvaraya from Karnataka, the only engineer to be awarded a Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in . Jnana Sangama, Belagavi is the headquarters of VTU. Additionally, the University has three regional centers in Bangalore, Gulbarga and Mysore.

It is one of the largest universities in India with 212 colleges affiliated to it with an intake capacity of over 467,100 undergraduate students and 12,666 postgraduate students. The university encompasses technical and management fields which offer a total of 30 undergraduate and 71 postgraduate courses. The university has around 1800 candidates.
