Dhaka — The (e-CAB) has sought exemption from platforms at source tax from the proposed in FY 2021-22. At the same time, the organization has sought the intervention of the newly appointed Commerce Secretary in implementing the Digital Commerce Guidelines and integrating e-commerce into trade licenses.

The e-CAB Executive Council members, led by e-CAB President Shomi Kaiser, presented the proposals in a courtesy call on Commerce Secretary Tapan Kumar Ghosh at the Secretariat on Sunday afternoon. The upcoming digital hut issue was also discussed at the meeting.

WTO Cell Director General, Additional Secretary, Md. Hafizur Rahman, e-Cab Vice President Mohammad Sahab Uddin Shipon, General Secretary Mohammad Abdul Waheed Tamal, Finance Secretary Mohammad Abdul Haque Anu, Director Asif Ahnaf, Director Saeed Rahman and General Manager Jahangir Alam Shovon. Was present.

At the end of the meeting, Finance Secretary Mohammad Abdul Haque Anu said that the Commerce Secretary has expressed a positive attitude on these issues. He assured that the Ministry of Commerce would inform the NBR about the budget issues.
