— With the aim to streamline the traffic management and prosecution of the rules violators, the Chittagong Range police have launched an integrated platform called ‘ Prosecution’ that it says will help people pay their fines via bank or payments apps.

The Additional Inspector General of Police (DIG) Chittagong Range Anwar Hossain said that the updated information of any vehicle can be made available with help of an online platform enabling police to smoothly challan and people can make the payment on the go.

While e-traffic prosecution was already functional in the Metropolitan Police, now it is being introduced across various districts. Recently, it was launched in Laxmipur, said DIG while inaugurating the ‘e-Traffic Prosecution’ program at North Temuhani in the district town on Saturday.

He said with the introduction of the e-prosecution system, drivers will no longer have to go to the traffic police officers to pay fines. They will be able to deposit instantly through their bank accounts.

Earlier, officials used to hand over a fine paper and ask them to contact the traffic office. There was an opportunity to reduce the fine, but now it will not be.

The Superintendent of Police was present at the opening ceremony AHM Kamruzzaman, Additional Superintendent of Police Palash Kanti Nath, Monne Thoai Marma, Mimtanur Rahman, Iqbal Hossain, DB Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Azizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Jasim Uddin and Deputy Superintendent of Traffic Police Zakir Hossain and others.
