UP Police has launched a feature-packed UPCOP mobile application to offer various police-related services to people online

CCTNS project was launched in 2009 by UPA government in the aftermath of the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai with an aim to digitally connect all the police stations in the country and digitizing all existing FIRs and criminal records.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has launched a Digital Police Portal under CCTNS project, now citizen will be able to file FIR online.

"The government will undertake steps to integrate the various organs of the Criminal Justice System such as the police, courts, prisons, prosecution, forensic laboratories, finger prints and juvenile homes with the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) database," said Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
