Betting big on India’s local language, global search giant Google on Wednesday announce the opening of its Google AdWords and Google AdSense services for content creators and advertisers of Bengali language

Betting big on India’s local language, search giant Google on Wednesday announce the opening of its Google AdWords and Google AdSense services for and advertisers of language. With 205 million speakers, Bengali is the sixth most spoken native language in the world by population. It is the national language of Bangladesh and the official language of some eastern and north-eastern states of the India, including West Bengal, Tripura, Assam and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Google said that “Bengali being the sixth most spoken language around the world, publishers and advertisers can now reach a large audience globally and target them with Bengali-language search and display ads. In addition to that, content creators who have websites and blogs in Bengali can now easily monetize their content and attract advertisers from across the globe.”

“With the availability of Hindi, and today’s launch of Bengali language capabilities, we are working hard to ensure that digital advertising is keeping up with the needs of an evolving Internet audience. Over the coming months, we will share more about our efforts to further build on this,” stated Shalini Girish, Director of Google Marketing Solutions in India.

Google AdWords is an advertising service by Google for businesses wanting to display ads on Google and its advertising . The AdWords program enables businesses to set a budget for advertising and only pay when people click the ads. The ad service is largely focused on keywords.
