The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has scheduled five Jeevan Praman camps across Delhi NCR in October 2026 to help telecom pensioners submit their annual life certificates and transition to digital verification systems.
The camps, organised by the Principal Controller of Communication Accounts, will be held at Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) exchange buildings in Yamuna Vihar, Dwarka, Laxmi Nagar, Rohini and Janakpuri between 6 October and 21 October. Each session will run from 11am to 4pm.
Pensioners attending the camps will receive training on two digital verification methods which include submitting life certificates through the Jeevan Praman portal at jeevanpramaan.gov.in and using the Jeevan Praman Face Authentication mobile application.
The face authentication system allows pensioners to complete verification using their smartphone camera, eliminating the need for physical visits to verification centres.
Jeevan Praman camp schedule
The first camp will be held at the MTNL exchange building in Yamuna Vihar on 6 October 2026. Subsequent camps are scheduled for Sector 6 Dwarka on 8 October, Laxmi Nagar on 12 October, Rohini Sector 3 on 15 October and Janakpuri on 21 October.
In addition to these satellite camps, pensioners can also visit the office of the Principal Controller of Communication Accounts at Delhi Sanchar Lekha Bhawan in Prasad Nagar and the extension counter at Eastern Court on Janpath throughout October.
The camps will accept Know Your Pensioner (KYP) form submissions. Pensioners planning to submit KYP forms must bring one passport-size photograph along with copies of their Aadhaar card, PAN card and Pension Payment Order (PPO). Staff at the camps will also address grievances and queries related to pension disbursement.
Jeevan Praman digital verification
Jeevan Praman is the government’s biometric-enabled digital life certificate system for pensioners. Launched in 2014, the system allows pensioners to submit proof of life electronically rather than appearing physically before a pension disbursing authority. The certificate is generated using Aadhaar-based biometric authentication and transmitted directly to the pension disbursing agency.
The face authentication application, introduced subsequently, provides an additional verification option for pensioners who may have difficulty with fingerprint biometrics. The application uses facial recognition technology linked to the pensioner’s Aadhaar photograph.
Telecom pensioners who have already submitted their life certificate for the current cycle need not attend the camps for certificate submission, the Principal Controller’s office said. However, they may visit for training on digital methods or to submit KYP forms and grievances.
DoT said that the camps are part of the government’s ongoing effort to digitise pension verification across central government departments and reduce the administrative burden on elderly pensioners who previously had to visit banks or government offices in person to prove they were alive and eligible for continued pension payments.
