UV flatbed printing differs from conventional inkjet printing in that the substrate remains stationary while the print head moves across it, allowing printing on rigid materials up to 20 centimetres thick. The has found growing adoption among signage makers, interior décor manufacturers and promotional merchandise businesses in India.

Technical Capabilities

The SureColor V4000 supports a print area of 980mm by 700mm — slightly larger than A1 size — and achieves print speeds of up to 4.6 square metres per hour in standard mode, rising to 10.9 square metres per hour in high-speed mode. Print resolution stands at 600 by 900 dots per inch.

The device uses Epson’s 10-colour UltraChrome UV ink set, which includes cyan, magenta, yellow and black alongside light cyan, light magenta, grey, red, white and varnish inks. The white and varnish inks enable textured, gloss and multi-layer printing effects that would not be possible with standard CMYK ink sets alone.
