BENGALURU said it plans to make its PowerStore all-flash systems compatible with the Nutanix Cloud Platform, giving enterprise customers an additional storage option in virtualised environments, as part of its broader Dell PowerStore Nutanix integration strategy.

The integration, expected to enter early access in spring 2026 and reach general availability in summer 2026, will allow Nutanix users to connect Dell PowerStore arrays and manage compute and storage independently, the company said.

The move follows previous collaborations between the two companies, including PowerFlex support for Nutanix systems. Dell said the latest step is intended to expand deployment choices and simplify management for organisations using its infrastructure alongside Nutanix software.

Integration builds on existing collaboration

The company said PowerStore’s design enables scale-up and scale-out growth, while Nutanix provides a cloud-based operating model for managing workloads.

Dell added that the combined systems are expected to offer automation features and improve data management in virtual environments.

Dell’s addition of PowerStore to Nutanix reflects a broader trend in computing, where enterprises seek flexibility to combine hardware and software from different providers.

Industry reports indicate that the integration responds to customer requests for more interoperable infrastructure.

Dell PowerStore Nutanix integration part of larger plan

Dell said the PowerStore integration is part of a larger plan to extend support for Nutanix in its product ecosystem.

The company plans to include Nutanix compatibility in its Private Cloud solutions next year, with automated lifecycle management and expanded PowerEdge server platforms.

Dell’s PowerStore is an all-flash data storage system that uses solid-state drives instead of mechanical disks, offering faster data access and lower latency. It supports both scale-up and scale-out configurations, allowing organisations to expand performance and capacity as needed.

PowerStore also includes built-in data reduction technologies such as compression and deduplication to improve storage efficiency.

PowerStore used for demanding workloads

All-flash systems like PowerStore are typically used for demanding workloads in areas such as databases, virtual machines and real-time analytics, where consistent performance and reliability are required.

Nutanix provides a software-defined cloud platform that integrates compute, storage and networking through a model. The platform enables unified management of on-premises and hybrid cloud environments, giving enterprises flexibility to scale resources and reduce operational complexity.

The addition of PowerStore support in the Nutanix Cloud Platform allows customers to combine Dell’s storage technology with Nutanix’s management and virtualisation capabilities. The arrangement offers enterprises the option to scale compute and storage independently while maintaining compatibility with existing Nutanix tools and operations.
