Fortinet sets up two new local data centers in India

With the aim to at expand the availability and reach of its products and services in India, Cybersecurity firm Fortinet launched two dedicated data centres located in Pune and Bangalore.

With the aim to at expand the availability and reach of its products and services in India, Cybersecurity firm Fortinet launched two dedicated data centres located in Pune and Bangalore.

The introduction of new data centres is an addition to Fortinet’s existing Development Centre and Support Centre investments in India. The cybersecurity major said it aims to meet the growing demand for secure connections by expanding coverage for Fortinet Universal SASE, FortiCloud, and -Powered Security Services.

Vishak Raman, Vice President of Sales, India, SAARC, SEAHK & ANZ, at Fortinet, said, “…the demand for cloud-delivered security that transcends traditional network boundaries has become paramount. As Fortinet strengthens its presence with the addition of these new data centres, it is well-positioned to meet the critical security challenges and enhance the security landscape in India and the broader SAARC region…”

Citing its internal report, the company said that the work landscape in India has seen a shift with 94% of the workforce engaging in either hybrid or fully remote working models. On average, this necessitates over 40 connections to third-party cloud applications, thereby significantly enlarging an organisation’s attack surface and posing challenges to .

Fortinet notes that to navigate this, an increasing number of businesses are adopting cloud-delivered services to securely connect their hybrid workforce.

Fortinet explains that their Universal SASE covers network edges and microbranches to ensure secure access to applications, while promising a high ROI through consolidation and an improved digital user experience.

Fortinet claims that their Universal SASE offers a high-performance and scalable cloud network equipped with best-in-class AI-powered security, unified management, and end-to-end digital experience monitoring.

FortiCloud, is company’s platform for delivering security and security management services. It aims to provide customers with a straightforward way to connect, protect, and deliver their data and applications, whether on-premises or in the cloud.

According to Fortinet, their FortiGuard AI-Powered Security Services stand at the forefront, offering market-leading, AI-enabled security capabilities. It continually assesses risks and autonomously responds to and counters known and unknown threats across a distributed network.
