Hexaware Technologies, a BPO and services provider, has established a new office in Dehradun, a move officiated by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday.

The Mumbai headquartered company stated that this new addition to its global delivery network aims to enhance its digital IT services delivery to customers across various sectors and geographies.

This development is in line with Hexaware’s strategy announced last year, which is focused on expanding to smaller cities with substantial potential and talent pools, said a senior executive.

Hexaware attributed the choice of Dehradun to several factors including its proximity to major metropolitan centers, robust transport infrastructure, its status as an educational hub, and a skilled IT workforce available in the region.

“At Hexaware Technologies, expansion, particularly in smaller cities, is an integral part of our core strategy. And with this new launch, we continue to expand our global delivery footprint for the sustained growth of the company,” said R Srikrishna, Chief Executive Officer, Hexaware Technologies.

“We think ‘Small is the new Big’ and are very confident that the all-new Dehradun center will allow us to explore new talent pools and provide IT professionals with opportunities to serve our global clients,” Srikrishna asserted.

Hexaware said that the Dehradun center will primarily function as a 24/7 global operations hub, extending its shared IT services. The company also disclosed that its digital IT operations (DITO) will be orchestrated from this facility.

In terms of talent development, Hexaware outlined plans to engage IT professionals and individuals with strong communication skills and foundational IT expertise, providing training to become integral members of the Global Shared Services monitoring and management team.

“The groundwork laid by the government over the years has turned Uttarakhand into a dream destination for IT and ITeS companies. The entire machinery is working hard to attract , and the arrival of a leading player like Hexaware is a testimony of Uttarakhand’s growth potential,” chief minister said during the launch function.

Hexaware also claimed that it is fully committed to gender diversity with a target of a 50% female workforce for the new center under its ‘StrongHer Up‘ campaign.

“Dehradun, an education hub, has rapidly emerged as a major hub for the technology and IT industry over the past few years. The city has the potential to serve with a skilled workforce, which the thriving IT sector is in dire need of,” said Hemant Vijh, EVP & COO Digital ITO, Hexaware Technologies.

“We at Hexaware Technologies are absolutely thrilled to launch a new office in this promising city and are committed to bringing some great opportunities for the local talent,” Vijh said.
