Bangladesh: Public library’s books to go online

Each e-library is arranged in such a way that the reader can read the book of his choice through virtual access to the library from all types of mobiles except computers.

Dhaka — Bangladesh’s 71 public and 2 private library books can be read through or , for this these libraries are being digitized. This information was given at a virtual review meeting of the Information Communication Technology (ICT) department and the Ministry of Culture (MoC).

It was informed at the meeting that there is a separate digital management system for each library. Where e-books will be arranged. There will be separate children and Mujib Corner.

It was further informed at the meeting that the ICT department will provide Radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology for wireless technology connection, IP phone, departmental libraries by converting libraries to digital by connecting them to LAN network.
