ICT division new projects to create 50,000 women entrepreneurs: Bangladesh IT Minister

The State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak remarked this while participating in a webinar titled 'MLS Entrepreneur Pathshala' on June 22. The state minister inaugurated the online education platform at the event.

Dhaka — The Department of (ICT) is going to start work on a new project to produce more than 50,000 women entrepreneurs in 43 districts to increase the number of women entrepreneurs.

The State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak remarked this while participating in a webinar titled ‘MLS Entrepreneur Pathshala’ on June 22. The state minister inaugurated the online education platform at the event.

Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that entrepreneurs are the backbone of a country. Entrepreneurs can create more than 100 jobs without being subordinate to anyone. In his speech, Palak called for using the internet not only for but also as the main driving force of livelihood.

Bangladesh Entrepreneurs Association (BEA) is one of the most effective platforms for young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. Speaking on the occasion, BEA Founder Chairperson Abdul Muhid Chowdhury said that it would help young entrepreneurs start, expand and create more jobs through consulting, training, mentoring, and building networks with financial institutions.

Anita Taisin, CEO of Youth Business International, and Dr. Managing Director of were present as special guests on the occasion. Md. Mofizur Rahman. In her speech, Anita Taisin emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and called on the managing director of the SME Foundation, BEA, to work with the SME Foundation. Relevant entrepreneurs including Ashfaq Haque, Executive Director of BEA were also present on the occasion.
