Social media giant Facebook has released information on top-ranked Facebook pages of government bodies, ministries and political parties in India for the period, January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2017, and there is no surprise – the right wing party has dominatined its platform. The position of top two Lok Sabha member went to and Asaduddin Owaisi, of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen – two person who have completely different thoughts and some way extreme.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most talked about Lok Sabha member, Sachin Tendulkar who perhaps for the first time in a year, tried to speak in Rajya Sabha but could not do, due to uproar by opposition is the most popular Rajya Sabha member on Facebook. Among apex bodies, PMO India is most popular on Facebook followed by President of India, . Ministry of External Affairs topped amongst ministries. MyGov India is the most popular government initiative on Facebook while amongst the armed forces, the Indian Army is the most popular. Amongst state government & UTs, Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh is the most popular followed by Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje.

BJP came in first amongst political parties with Aam Aadmi Party coming in second, followed by the Indian National Congress. Facebook said that the information is based on Facebook interactions which include total reactions, shares and comments last year.
