Indian AI data solutions company iMerit names Rajsekhar Aikat as new CTO, Product Officer

Indian AI data solutions company, iMerit has announced to onboard as its Chief Technology & Product Officer. According to the company, Aikat joins iMerit from , where he was Senior Director of Product Management.

Aikat brings along over 18 years of experience in automotive, IOT, and sectors. Before Qualcomm, he was Director of Product at Brain Corporation, an autonomous mobile robot platform, the company said in a statement.

Radha Basu, Founder and CEO, iMerit, said, “Raj brings rich experience in , artificial intelligence and robotics. He will lead the technology innovation, strategy and product roadmap as we continue to build long-term strategic relationships with the leading global players in the space.”

DD Ganguly, President, iMerit, said, “At iMerit, we believe a data-centric approach is a key component to advancing AI, especially as companies get closer to production and need to solve complex edge cases in their data.

To achieve this successfully requires a combination of technology, talent and techniques to not only generate high-quality data, but also do it at enterprise scale. Raj will play a key role in taking our existing technologies and platforms to the next level.”

Speaking on his appointment Rajsekhar Aikat, Chief Technology and Product Officer, iMerit, said, “I am excited to join iMerit as the Chief Technology & Product Officer. With the Cambrian explosion in machine learning across all facets of our lives, and the importance & complexity of data to enable these mega trends, I believe that iMerit is strongly positioned at the confluence of technology trends and ML solutions.”

At present iMerit employs more than 5,500 full-time data annotation experts in Bhutan, Europe, India and the United States. The company has raised $23.5 million in funding till date, from British International Investment, Khosla Impact, Michael and Susan Dell Foundation and Omidyar Network.
