In continuous with Budget 2022 announcement on the use of drone technology, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 100 Kisan drones in various cities and towns across the country on Friday to spray pesticides in farms as part of a special drive aimed at assisting farmers.
Speaking at the programme, Prime Minister stated: “This is a new chapter in the development of 21st-century agricultural facilities. I am confident that this beginning will not only serve as a watershed moment in the drone industry's development but will also open the sky to limitless possibilities.”

She had said that during the financial year 2022-23, the Centre will promote Kisan Drones, chemical-free natural farming, and public-private partnerships for the delivery of digital and high-tech services to farmers across the country.
She emphasised the importance of technology use, stating that Kisan Drones will be promoted for crop assessment, land record digitization, and insecticide and nutrient spraying.
