Dhaka: The US Embassy in Dhaka has expressed interest in providing necessary assistance to Bangladesh's higher education institutions to take forward online education and blended learning activities.
Besides, the embassy has also decided to provide scholarships for teachers of the country's universities to pursue higher degrees in American universities.
A delegation from the US Embassy in Dhaka made the remarks at a meeting with representatives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) at a hotel in the capital today.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for joint ventures in the field of higher education in Bangladesh.
UGC Chairman Prof. In his speech, Kazi Shahidullah called for a waiver of tuition fees for Bangladeshis pursuing higher degrees in American universities.
