Bangladesh: Monthly transaction limit in MFS set to Tk 2 lakh

The monthly transaction limit in mobile banking was increased from Tk 75,000 to Tk 200,000 on April 4 after the government imposed restrictions on movement due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

: The maximum monthly transaction limit at the individual level in mobile banking services (MFS) has been kept unchanged at two lakhs. The of country Bank articulated this on Wednesday.

The monthly transaction limit in mobile banking was increased from Tk 75,000 to Tk 200,000 on April 4 after the government imposed restrictions on movement due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

However, Bangladesh Bank has taken away the opportunity of Tk40,000 transactions in mobile banking without any charge.

A central bank official told The Daily Star that the facility had been lifted as the government had recently resumed normal economic activities.

From now on, MFS service providers will be able to charge according to their policy, he said.
