Bangladesh govt provides Tk 2,000 to 2,000 women through MFS

As part of the celebration of the 91st birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Nesha Mujib, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has gifted Tk 2,000 to 2,000 distressed women through the Mobile Financial Services Cash of the Postal Department.

Dhaka — As part of the celebration of the 91st birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Nesha Mujib, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has gifted Tk 2,000 to 2,000 distressed through the Mobile Cash of the Postal Department.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs organized a virtual event, from Ganobhaban, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present as the chief guest at the function and paid gifts to the distressed women.

The entire cost of sending the grant money is borne by the Nagad. In this case, every distressed woman has received an additional Tk30 in her cash account as a charge to cash out the two thousand takas they received.

The National Women’s Organization of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs has done all the work of determining and selecting the number of distressed women.

The cash  receiver family is proud to be associated with such an initiative on Bangamata’s birthday, said Tanvir A Mishuk, managing director of the company.

” Nagad has always stood by the in the public interest,” he said.

As a result of such work, the benefits of digital financial services are rapidly spreading to people in every corner of the country, which is playing a big role in the implementation of the ‘Digital Bangladesh’ vision announced by the Prime Minister.

Earlier in 2020, similar gifts were distributed to distressed women in cash on the 90th birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Nesha Mujib.

The State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nesa Indira presided over the function.

Apart from this, ‘Bangabandhu Chair’ and Professor of History Department of Dr. Syed Anwar Hossain shed light on Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib and Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. Sayedul Islam gave a welcome speech on the occasion.

In the last year, the government has distributed cash, grants, and allowances to about 30 million people about 80 million times. Moreover, they have taken several initiatives to reduce the cost of mobile financial services in Covid.

On March 26, 2019, the postal department officially launched cash as a digital financial transaction service.
