Google and Amazon register to do business in Bangladesh

Google received VAT registration on May 23 and Amazon on May 27. From now on, two companies will pay VAT by submitting regular VAT returns

Dhaka giants Google and Amazon are now registered VAT payers in Bangladesh, both of the companies have officially obtained Registration Number (BIN) from the Dhaka South VAT Commissionerate as a non-resident entity, which is known as VAT Registration.

Google received VAT registration on May 23 and Amazon on May 27. From now on, two companies will pay VAT by submitting regular VAT returns.

Earlier, these companies used to pay two VATs through the bank where their money was paid from Bangladesh deducting VAT and deposited to the government treasury.

Not just Google, Amazon, sources at the National Board of Revenue (NBR) hinted that Facebook and are also going to register for VAT soon.

It is learned that Google has registered VAT under the name of Pacific PTE Limited. Services are referred to as the type of business. And the address of the regional office in Singapore has been used.

On the other hand, Amazon is registered as Amazon Web Services Inc. The company said it would do service-oriented business. Amazon used their prime address as Seattle, USA.
