Dhaka — The Minister of State for Information and Communication The technology of (CIT) has termed the “Mask Distribution Hub” as a timely step to ensure planned distribution of masks in response to the global corona epidemic.

He advised the concerned parties to take initiative to make quality masks in the country.

The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of “Mask Distribution Hub”, an online platform for coordinating mask distribution at the national level initiated by the A2i project of the Information and Communication Technology Department.

Palak hopes to overcome the Corona epidemic with his own technology (Data-Driven Decision Making) model.

He said the right decision to distribute masks must be made through data analysis.

He also highlighted the global recognition of the SDG tracker invented by A2I and its success in preventing infections by forming the National Data Task Force.

The state minister called upon all officials to input in this hub the information on which areas are wearing or not wearing masks, which areas need masks, or which public-private organizations want to supply masks through the platform.

He called on all to ‘enslave the habit of wearing a mask’.

He said in the last 14 months, the government has been trying its best to tackle the global corona crisis by making the best use of technology and managing it with limited resources.

All the related technologies have been created in the country through home-grown solutions.

A2i has created the online dashboard ‘Mask Distribution Hub’ as part of various public awareness initiatives, including coordinating the distribution of masks in public, private and private initiatives to raise public awareness on hygiene and prevent proper use of masks to prevent coronavirus.

NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Department presided over the function while Juena Aziz, Chief Coordinator, SDG Affairs to the Prime Minister, Lokman Hossain Mia, Secretary, Health Services Department addressed the function as the guest of honor.
