Israeli telecom giant, Partner Communications has announced that top company executive and serving chief executive officer, Isaac Benbenisti plans to step down after completing nearly six years of tenure on the company board.
According to telecom experts, Partner Communications is Israel’s second-largest mobile phone operator, which will announce a Benbenisti succession plan soon. The exact reason behind Benbenisti’s exit is though yet to be known, the final date for his departure is also not finalised by the company yet.
According to company sources, the Partner Communications board will appoint a nominating committee for the appointment of new CEO.
The company in a statement noted that during his tenure as CEO Benbenisti turned Partner from a mobile phone operator into a comprehensive telecoms group, developing 4G and 5G mobile as well as launching an internet-based TV service and a fibre optics network.
Partner is also the first Israeli telecom to forge deals with Netflix and Amazon’s Prime Video. The company is, however, yet to turn green as the revenues and profits continue to slide following 2012 reforms that opened the cellular market to competition.
