Moderna join ranks with IBM to launch tech venture to track Covid-19 vaccine administration

Global vaccine maker Moderna Inc and technology giant IBM Corp have announced a technology venture that will track -19 vaccine administration programmes globally.

Moderna is an American pharmaceutical and biotechnology company that focuses on drug discovery, drug development, and vaccine technologies based on messenger RNA.

As per the new venture, the two companies will focus on using technology to help governments and providers address potential supply chain disruptions through information sharing. The two companies will also allow organisations to use IBM’s Digital Health Pass tool to verify the health credentials of employees, customers and travellers.

Earlier this year, Salesforce.com Inc, the American -based software company that provides customer relationship management service and a complementary suite of enterprise focused on customer service, marketing automation, analytics, and application development, as part of a large coalition to digitize Covid-19 vaccination records, said it plans to launch a new product to help governments and healthcare providers maintain and manage such records.
