According to the company, the new centre will generate about 1,000 jobs to the city over the next two years.

The directives are stated to be stipulated by the Reserve Bank of India, even though Google doesn’t fall under the apex bank’s ambit.

The new jobs will mostly be created in priority areas including cloud, digital, analytics, cyber and emerging technologies.

In the latest round FlexiLoans, backed by KKR India senior advisor Sanjay Nayar and former KPMG top honcho Narayan Sheshadri raised $90 m in a mix of equity and debt in June.

The two, FII and NASSCOM, have signed an MoU in this regard. The initiative comes under the Centre’s digital India and the Gujarat government’s move to promote digitisation.
