Vodafone plans to hire over 7,000 software engineers to expand digital services

Vodafone announced plans to hire over 7,000 software developers by 2025 to expand its own digital services across Europe and Africa.

announced plans to hire over 7,000 software developers by 2025 to expand its own digital services across Europe and Africa.

The British corporation stated that the investment would help it to develop products and services more quickly and affordably in areas such as the Internet of Things, smart networks, and cyber security.

Johan Wibergh, Vodafone's Chief Technology Officer, said the company was focusing on digital services to assist drive revenue growth in a difficult environment for core connectivity.

He stated that the company was establishing a “global software brand” to give clients superfast internet and digital products.

The positions, which will boost Vodafone's total number of to over 16,000, will be filled through a combination of retraining current employees, bringing talents in-house, and recruiting approximately 700 new employees.
